There is lots of work happening to help women feel and be safer on a night out such as:
Prevention: Interventions to lessen opportunities for VAWG such as Northumbria Police’s Operation Cloak where officers are looking out for the vulnerable and catching offenders.
Support: Access to specialist support where VAWG is perpetrated to help vcitims cope and recover from their experience.
Behaviour change: Interventions to address offending behaviours and try to make lasting change;
Awareness: Raising awareness of VAWG through vulnerability training of those working in the night time economy and a media campaign.
