The Police and Crime Commissioner monitors how crime is changing across the force area so that the needs of communities can be better understood. This then influences how priorities are set, decisions are made, our work with others and the services the OPCC commissions.

Every quarter crime figures are shared by the PCC at the Police and Crime Panel.

The Government has also asked PCCs to publish data on how police forces are performing against national priorities set by Government. Data from 2019 has been used as a baseline as crime data from 2020 painted an inaccurate picture due to the Covid-19 pandemic. See below data for Northumbria Police:
