The Local Youth Fund provides young people with a platform to voice their views and ideas for preventing serious violence and knife crime.

With £16,000 available, the fund invites young people to put forward innovative ideas for projects that have a benefit to them and the communities they live in.

The fund aims to:
  • Empower young people to participate in decision making processes, related to preventing violent crime in their communities.
  • Provide a platform for young people to share their views, experiences and innovative ideas in tackling serious violence and knife crime.
  • Raise awareness amongst young people on the impact of violent crime, including providing opportunities to develop key skills for their future.
  • Inspire young people to develop and lead on their own projects that will make a difference to their local area, with a key focus on preventing serious violence and knife crime.

Applications must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 27th September 2024.

Thanks to previous rounds, this fund has enabled 78 projects to be brought to life, including a variety of sports activities such as the Knives Down Football League, youth-led campaigns and drop in sessions that improve safety, health and well-being, all with a direct benefit to more than 5,200 young people.
