The Commissioner’s Community Fund
The Commissioner’s Community Fund is aimed at supporting communities and grass roots projects which provide locally designed support for vulnerable people, diversionary activities, or seek to turn things around and improve their local neighbourhood. The PCC is encouraging ideas to create resilient and flourishing communities where opportunities for anti-social behaviour and crime are reduced and will not be tolerated. Communities, local projects and community groups that strive to make where they live a better place, resulting in safer streets and stronger communities are encouraged to submit an application.
Some of the money used to create this fund is recovered by the police from criminal activity, under the Proceeds of Crime Act (PoCA). The PCC is keen to make sure that this money is put back into the hands of the local communities affected by Anti-social behaviour (ASB) and crime, and to help bring communities together.
Projects are expected to be delivered between April 2026 and April 2027 including during school holidays and should be aimed at delivering diversionary activities, reducing ASB and crime, repairing the harm caused by ASB and crime and building community cohesion.
